The Dutch soprano Anna Majchrzak graduated with distinction at the Conservatory of Music in Rotterdam. She won first prize in the ‘Prix d’harmonie’ competition for conservatory students of Rotterdam. And she got in to the final rounds of the Grachtenfestival National conservatory competition. From 2012-2013 Anna was a young artist with Opera Studio Nederland. She finished her vocal developement at the McCray International Studio of Vocal Arts. She was awarded a scholarship from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds to sing Lauretta and Euridice in the Flagstaff opera festival in Fidenza Italy. And a scholarship of the Wilhelm Mengelberg Cultuurfonds to sing Laetitia at the Peter the Grote Festival in Groningen.
Other Operatic roles the versatile soprano has performed on stage include Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (in Dutch), Daphné in La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfers’ by Charpentier, Giunone in La Callisto by Cavalli, Marie in Die Verkaufte Braut and Yum Yum in the Operetta The Mikado (in Dutch).
In oratorio, Anna has interpreted the solo parts of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, St. John Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, Krönungsmesse and Exsultate Jubilate, Händel’s Messiah, Brahms Requiem, Haydn’s Stabat Mater, Telemann’s Ino Cantate and Tippet’s A Child of our Time. Other concert repertoire includes Dances by Louis Andriessen, Neue Liebeslieder by Brahms and Sequenza by Berio. She also sang many National Anthems of various countries at different sports events. Other previous musical experiences include conducting, giving masterclasses and freelance choir work at the Dutch National Opera and the Flamish Opera.
Anna gave recitals at a lunch concert in ‘De Doelen’ Rotterdam, Hotel L’Europe in Amsterdam and castle Nijenrode. She regularly gives small recitals with her harp duo on concert series for baby’s across the Netherlands. Her latest developments are a series of concerts where she improvises on the spot together with her vocal trio.
Further engagements include the role of Soprano soloist on the World Tour of the famous Dutch violonist André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra.
